Louise Lombard is an English actress best known for her roles as Evangeline Eliott in the BBC drama series The House of Eliott, and Sofia Curtis in the CBS drama series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. | |
Louise Lombard's Irish parents left Dublin in the mid-1950s. She was born in Redbridge, London, as Louise Maria Perkins, the fifth of seven children. Lombard began taking drama lessons when was eight, attended Trinity Catholic High School, a Roman Catholic school, and later printing and photography at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. From 1998 to 2000, she took a career break to study English literature at St Edmund's College, Cambridge. Lombard is best known for playing Evangeline Eliott, the younger of the two Eliott sisters, in the 1990s television drama The House of Eliott, after getting her big break in the hit series Chancer, in which she starred with Clive Owen, and followed by starring roles in the television dramas Bodyguards and Metropolis. In 1998, Lombard starred in the cult classic Tale of the Mummy, and the next year in the film Esther, with F. Murray Abraham. Lombard worked in the film Hidalgo co-starring Viggo Mortensen. In November of the same year, 2004, she began a recurring role on the hit CBS television series,CSI: Crime Scene Investigation playing Sofia Curtis, a Crime Scene Investigator who goes on a career path to become a homicide detective for two seasons, was promoted to series regular throughout a third season, only to appear in the next season premiere credited as a special guest star. Afterwards, her character left the show without any explanation until several years later when again she reprised the role, with her character having being promoted to Deputy Chief. Lombard appeared in the pilot episode of NCIS: Los Angeles playing Special Agent Lara Macy in charge of the Office of Special Projects; negative audience reaction to Macy lead to her character being killed off. By the start of the next TV season she was playing Robert Carlyle's character's dying wife in Stargate Universe. |
